Douglas Jack  Mr. Jack was born and raised in Fergus and continues a family-tradition of providing legal services in his community and beyond.  He graduated from St. Jerome’s University, Waterloo, Ontario with his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) (English) and from Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto, Ontario with his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.).  He was called to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Ontario in 1985 and has been in private practice since that time.  From 1986 to 2000 he practiced in a general firm partnership until he commenced his own practice in 2001.
Throughout his professional career Mr. Jack has focused primarily on commercial and business law matters while still maintaining an interest in providing consumer law services such as personal estate planning.  His specific interests are evidenced in the leading roles he plays in the delivery of legal services to the veterinary and agriculture sectors and his attention to matters relating to family businesses generally.  He is the current President of the American Veterinary Medical Law Association and a member of a number of other veterinary interest groups.  In addition, he is a member of the National Advisory Committee on Family Farm Succession.  As he conducts his own family business, Mr. Jack has a further interest in family business enterprises and is a supporting sponsor of the Centre for Family Business at the University of Waterloo.

Cheryl Redman   Cheryl Redman has been engaged as Mr. Jack’s personal law clerk for a period in excess of 14 years.  Like Mr. Jack, she grew up on a local farm and continues to reside with her young family in Fergus.  She takes an active interest in community events.  Throughout her career she had developed a unique skill-set which permits her to attend to the needs of the firm’s clients in a professional and efficient manner.

Holly Wantenaar  The most recent addition to the firm personnel is Holly Watenaar who provides general clerical services within the firm and serves as the firm’s corporate law clerk.  Her experience in law offices in Toronto and Fergus has provided her with a sound background to serve the needs of our commercial clients.  Holly and her husband operate a family dairy farm near Fergus.

Debbie Jack  Debbie Jack provides accounting services to her husband’s law practice making the firm a true “family business”.  A former lending and administrative officer of a Canadian chartered bank, Debbie brings a great deal of experience to this important function within the firm.
